Why Roku stock dropped from almost 500 dollars a share to 140 a share in the last six months

The answer is easy religious fanatics with holier than thou attitudes who had the nerve to ban adult channels on their private channel list..Roku shareholders should get every one of these religious fanatics fired. How dare you try and preach your morality to me…I just bought a Roku so I could watch adult channels on my tv but I’m bringing it right back to Walmart. You just lost another subscriber.

Get your facts straight.  Roku didn't single out adult channels.  They banned all private channels.  I lost 50 channels I developed myself none of which were adult.  Private channels were a panacea for pirates.  Blame them.

And most of the private channel were porn…the shareholders have lost billions because of these idiots and demand they all be immediately terminated

The one thing I really miss is the weather/time screen saver.I would be willing to pay a one time fee of $5 to get it on all the Roku's linked to my account.I want to win the lottery too!I put the LED time screen saver on the one in the bedroom so I can see what time it is when I wake up during the night but gosh it lights up the whole bedroom. If porn is your thing I would suggest and entry level Chromebox and a Logitech K400 keyboard. You can use the Google play store to down streaming apps.

Various videos on YouTube cover the stock price decline, but other tech stocks also declined e.g. Zoom.

Chromebox not easy to find anymore at a sensible price.  Secondhand Chromebook connected to TV is more feasible, or low end new one isn't outrageous.  Or old laptop with a Linux distro connected to TV (USB to HDMI connector if no HDMI port on laptop maybe?? Or use a miracast dongle.)

The original idea of private channels were for developers to offer them to a limited group of people for beta testing. It quickly became abused by those using them for piracy and other items. Roku does not profit from them and I'd guess 99% of users never even knew about them.

Roku replaced the private channels with a proper beta testing setup with a limited time of not being public.

There isn't much of a supply of affordable, in support, Chromeboxes in the UK.  Most of the in support Chromeboxes available are stupid expensive (check Amazon.co.uk), and limited secondhand market.

Mini PC's running various OS, yes, some options to be used as a media device.

More likely to find a low end Chromebook at an affordable price in UK (e.g. low end Lenovo was recently on offer for £129 at various retailers).
