I assume that Prime provides or contracts out their app, and Netflix is responsible for theirs, etc. I wanted to confirm that, and to find out if anyone knows how to provide feedback to these guys. It's like they have never used their own apps, and no one is providing feedback.
The Netflix app has improved quickly and I only have one complaint now. That is the glitchy feature they have that I believe is supposed to restart the show if you click the back arrow twice quickly. It's too easy to trigger that when trying to go back and see something you just missed.
The Prime app's controls are miserable. Instead of using the remote controls directly, you have to use the remote controls to navigate virtual controls. So you have to arrow over to the back arrow, select enter, and then navigate back to the play button before it gets where you want so you can stop it from rewinding. If you hit enter twice or more on the rewind, it goes so fast it may as well just be a start at the beginning button, and the rewind shows a small counter, but not a thumbnail of where you are, so you just have to guess when it is in the right place.
I would like to provide feedback, since they surely have not received any, but I've searched all evening and cannot find an avenue
Within the Prime app go to Help and Settings then
Feedback and support
There is little doubt in my mind for a Company as big as Amazon
They Develop their own UI
The Roku UI and the channel UI are two different things. Roku is responsible for the main OS and user interface. But once you start a channel it is no longer controlled or programmed by Roku. With the exception of The Roku Channel and Roku Media Player. All other channels are developed and maintained by someone other than Roku.

Thanks, I found it.
Thanks for echoing my anger. So many hoops to jump through. It's as if no one at Amazon has even taken the time to look at other UI's.
