Trying to figure out how to turn off the Roku that’s already installed in the smart TV

My friend bought a Ruko build in smart TV. He is not happy with the Ruko.  Can he just watch regular TV by uninstalling Ruko that’s already installed in the smart tv

He could factory reset it and skip the Roku setup, but it still may not be what he's looking for.  It will have a a user interface similar to what he's getting now, just without all the Roku channels/apps.
