The Weather Channel - receive Dismiss message

I have a subscription to ReDiscover TV through Roku. We were able to watch The Weather Channel without any problems until last week. I installed a new router and then started receiving a “Dismiss” error message when I tried to connect to The Weather Channel. I reset the router, but that did not solve the problem. The Weather Channel is the only channel I am having issues with. Disney, etc., are working fine.

I have tried accessing The Weather Channel on several other TVs, with the same result. When I tried it on my computer, it wants the password entered twice and an OTP, which I do not have. When I select Register Now, it says my email address is a duplicate and won’t let me go any farther.

Any one else having this problem? Any suggestions?

For more information about that channel's features and functionality, you'll want to contact the channel provider support directly to inquire further. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.

Can you share the contact info you found? My Weather Channel App has never worked on my Roku Ultra and all other channels and apps work fine.

You didnt mention your Roku model # or firmware version (Settings/System/About) or app version (highlight the app and press Options (*) on the remote).

Try reinstalling The Weather Channel app:

1) Remove the TWC app (Highlight the app, press the Options (*) button on the remote, then Remove)

2) RESTART the Roku (Settings/System/System restart/Restart) <-- MUST DO THIS HERE!!!

3) Re-install the TWC app

(If you dont restart after removal, settings/cached data associated with the app are left behind and it wont be a clean re-install)

I am not in front of the device at this moment - however, I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING - I deleted the app. I cold booted the Roku Ultra. I re-installed the app. I restarted the Roku Ultra again.

NOTHING - Weather channel just spins and spins and never gives you a chance to sign in or authenticate.

We watch The Weather Channel through ReDiscover. I tried ReDiscover's support email, but it bounced back. I ended up going to their Facebook page and messaged them. Hope this helps.

The TWC app is working.

You have to follow the reinstallation sequence in order:

1) Remove the TWC app (Highlight the app, press the Options (*) button on the remote, then Remove)

2) RESTART the Roku (Settings/System/System restart/Restart) <-- MUST DO THIS HERE!!!

3) Re-install the TWC app

(If you dont restart after removal, settings/cached data associated with the app are left behind and it wont be a clean re-install)
