The Roku Channel App

Hi does the The Roku Channel App work in canada? I havent been able to get it to play anything and i cant reach out to support, why i dont know. Is there anything i can do?

I was under the impression that TRC was available in Canada. You may know the first step they always want you to try, and that is to uninstall the channel. Press the * button while the tile is highlighted and choose remove. Then you must power cycle your Roku. This is an absolute must. Either pull the power for 30 seconds, or use the System menu to do a system restart (not reset!). Then install the channel again and see if that helps.

Please be aware that The Roku Channel is only available on your Roku streaming player or Roku TV in the United States and Canada but only available for your web browser, the Roku mobile app, and compatible Samsung TV's in the United States. @RokuDanny-R I think you might have misunderstood @MistaJ . They are in Canada, but cannot get TRC to work on their device. Of course, I forgot to ask them what device they were using, so perhaps that will offer some context.

yes currently in canada, and the TRC app loaded, showing movies to watch but whenever you hit play for ex, Shrek, nothing happens, no loading no error just loops back to Play on and the its on a Roku Express

Thanks for the information.

It is possible you may have created a Roku account that isn't located in your current region. If channels in your region are not available, it may indicate that your device is linked to an account that was created in a different region where that channel may not be offered by the channel provider. You'll want to make sure that you are using an internet connection located in the correct region when creating your account. You can check your IP address' reported location by visiting www.whatismyip.com - If you see an issue, you'll need to contact your ISP to help resolve any issue.

We would recommend creating a new Roku account in your region.
