I know I've seen the topic about TCM before, but I think my question is somewhat different. If we want to lobby for a TCM streaming app that doesn't require a cable or satellite subscription, can we lobby Roku to work on a deal with TCM or do we need to lobby TCM, or TCM's owner (Time-Warner, still?) ?
I'd think that the owners of TCM would love to have the revenue stream without the cut that cable companies probably take.
It is strictly TCM's decision how to market and distribute their channel.
Very few cable-type channels that don't require purchasing as a premium subscription provide direct streaming options. If made available via direct subscription this greatly reduces their value to cable/satellite operators.
