Streambar not responding to remote

When streambar's plugged in there's no white light, onscreen doesn't respond to remote, have only had it a few months, worked great until it didn't? Should I try a factory reset? When I looked factory reset up on this site I got the impression it was saying to do that only if one is sending streambar back to factory?
