Spectrum Duplicate channels

Jump to solution

Think this is more of a Spectrum issue than Roku but here goes:

I know why there are variations of duplicate channels. HS, SD, digital yada yada. I want to keep only one channel instead of multiples of the same in my favorites. Problem seems to be if I delete any one of the duplicate channels then all the other corresponding channels get deleted also.

Why? And more importantly, why hasn't this been fixed?

Thanks for the inquiry.

For more information about that channel's features and functionality, you'll want to contact Spectrum support directly to inquire further. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.

You can reach Spectrum support here: https://www.spectrum.net/support/

Thanks,
Danny

It's not just a Spectrum problem. Comcast has a similar issue. Internally, channels have an ID code that is then mapped onto one or more channel numbers. The favorites are actually saving the ID code, not the channel number.

Re: Spectrum Duplicate channels

This issue only is a problem with the ROKU remote using the Spectrum app. My primary TV does not use ROKU, it uses Spectrum cable and a Spectrum remote. My primary TV does not have the issue of duplicating favorite channels. So, either the problem is with the ROKU itself or the Spectrum app. If the problem is within the Spectrum app, one must ask if the Spectrum app is written and maintained by Spectrum or by ROKU. Once this question is answered, we will know who should correct the issue. I'm not sure about the program "code" that another responder identified caused the problem.

The channel store entry says:

"Developed by:  Charter Communications Operating, LLC"

Very few of the thousands of Roku channels are developed by Roku themselves.
