Sling "Zoom to Fill Screen" Function Not Working

Jump to solution

The zoom to fill screen function is a nice function that the Sling apps offer.  It stretches a 4x3 SD image to fill a 16x9 HD screen.  Most channels that are still in SD on Sling are international channels where the source programming is 16x9 HD but the international version of the channel is SD, with the image squished into a 4x3 image with black side bars.  The zoom function corrects this by stretching the image to 16x9.

This function worked fine on Roku until a couple of weeks ago, when I got the latest Roku update.  It does not work now on Roku but it still works on Sling on Android TV.  I called Sling a couple of weeks ago when it stopped working and they were unaware of the problem.  It looks like a Roku problem because it works fine on the Android TV Sling app.

Does anybody know of a fix?  Is Roku going to fix this?
