I was dismayed to try the Roku Channel again recently only to find there was no sound. This was on a TCL TV with Roku. All other channels have sound just fine, including antenna, MLB, NETFLIX, HULU, etc. The problem does not appear to be with my TV, but maybe the ROKU app had a issue with an update.
Try removing The Roku Channel from the Roku home screen by navigating to the channel tile, pressing the * key on your remote and choosing 'Remove channel'. Then, go to Settings>System>Power>System restart and restart your TV. Once it loads up again, then visit 'Streaming channels' to locate The Roku Channel and add it back to your TV once more.
