Roku update disabled YouTube

On Dec 10 my Roku TCL Tv updated to 9.4.0 Build 4200 and YouTube stopped working. Tried all the various methods—uninstall, power off, reinstall—but YouTube goes to black for a second or two, then back to the channel screen. Works fine on one other TCL TV and all other devices so clearly an issue with this one TV.

This also happened to me on my Roku TCL. I've also tried all the "fixes" and still can't get the app to work.

Assuming you already tried removing, restarting (must do this step! here), reinstalling YouTube...

or already tried reverting your firmware to 9.4 (previous build) or 9.3 via the secret screen:

Thanks, I'll contact Roku. I didn't know about the secret screen. If it was really an update issue as I suggest above the problem should be much more widespread, but it doesn't seem to be.
