Its been announced that ROKU will be disabling the Porn hub private channel. I would like to plea with ROKU to reconsider this move. What does the community think? I would also like to hear from ROKU management. LeftHandedone1

Someone has misrepresented information to you, either out of ignorance or malice.

Roku is doing what has been called by many as disabling non-certified apps. But that's not exactly accurate. Roku still allows non-certified apps, but there is a time limit.

The whole purpose of non-certified apps was to allow developers the opportunity to get all the kinks worked out. It was a platform for beta apps. What happened was many decided to simply use that as a method of putting out apps without going through certification. Roku is now enforcing limits on non -certified apps. They're allowed, but only for a short period of time to a limited audience.

Roku is targeting no one. Roku is implementing and enforcing time limits on non-certified apps. The PornHub users and the VidAngel users are both taking up pitchforks, egged on by the companies. The companies are knowingly misrepresenting what Roku is doing, playing the victim card.

I'm waiting for this to turn into that season of The Surreal Life where Tammy Faye Bakker and Ron Jeremy became friends.

Roku doesn't charge for its use. Just what is it you're going to cancel?

If roku shuts down all those channels, what does roku offer that isn't already on my smart tv? At least my TV has a web browser to view adult content. And I will only need one remote

They takea cut of subscription fees that you pay for certain channels that you signed up with the Roku platform.

If your smart TV has everything you need, then yes, Roku is redundant.

Not from me they don't. I don't subscribe through Roku. I subscribe directly to a service and use the credentials on Roku. If you subscribe through Roku, for example, Netflix, you can only use that subscription on Roku. You can't use it on your phone or tablet, and you can't use it on your smart TV's app.

The convenience of subscribing quickly through the platform (Amazon Fire TV is the same way, by the way) isn't worth the restrictions (and Amazon Fire TV has the same restrictions).

Not entirely true. You can use other platforms if you sign up with Roku. A portion of those subscription fee goes to Roku. 

I will resubscribe on another platform.
