Roku keeps closing apps, how do I fix this?

I have the Roku Express. I've used the reset button, factory reset, update check, and still, apps will crash and close randomly after a few minutes. How can I fix this problem? I already bought a new Roku and it's doing the same exact thing.

The first thing is to ensure you're using the supplied power adapter and not the TV's USB port.  Faulty HDMI cables have also been known to cause strange problems, so try another one.
