When I click on the roku channel app, the app's startup page will appear for a second or 2, then returns to the roku home page.

Same issue here.

Issue was finally resolved by unplugging tv and roku player for a minute.

Thank you for posting this solution.  I was having a problem with one of my channels doing the same thing.  This solution worked for me as well.
