Roku Media Player missing Thumbnails?!?

Hello ,
I created a m3u playlist and using it with RMP but I can not get the Thumbnails to show up.
I read on this forum that there should be a jpeg of the same name as the video in order for roku to recognize the image but my list has live streaming url,
I would appreciate any help

Thanks

Re: Roku Media Player missing Thumbnails?!?

I assume you are playing the playlist from a usb device or via a dlna server. If from usb, try renaming the jpg to artist.jpg. Now, you can have one per folder so if all playlists are in the same folder they would bot each have a different icon.
If you are using dlna, then I have no suggestion.

Re: Roku Media Player missing Thumbnails?!?

If it is a video try setting the title using
#EXTINF:0,VIDEOTITLE
in the line preceeding the http
and then at the end of your playlist file include
VIDEOTITLE.jpg
and then make sure you have a VIDEOTITLE.jpg picture in the same folder that the playlist is in.

Re: Roku Media Player missing Thumbnails?!?

You don't need to use part of the url. you will create your own title and stick it in a line before the line containing the http address. This will give that url a <title>.
then you create your own jpg file and name it <title>.jpg. Put that name also in the playlist file. And then make sure the file is in the same folder that the playlist is in.

Re: Roku Media Player missing Thumbnails?!?

Thank you RokuDale for your reply,
For some reason I can't get it to work, here is what i did,
I created a M3U file containing these lines:
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:0 ,BBCNEWS  group-title="UK TV" ,BBC NEWS
https://ovh.easyview.eu/hls/bbcnews.m3u8?no_cache=0.34560737819493303
BBCNEWS.jpg
Then I created a JPG file named it BBCNEWS.JPG
Then I placed the M3U file and the JPG file inside a folder called UK.
but still no image is showing.

I would appreciate your help.

Re: Roku Media Player missing Thumbnails?!?

try changing the #extinfo to:
#EXTINF:0 ,BBCNEWS
Looks like the current playlist processing treats everything after the "," as the title. Make sure there is no space after BBCNEWS

I've filed a bug report.

@AJstream
Would you be interested in joining the Roku Media Player channel beta group? You can test a newer unreleased version of RMP.
