Roku Channel won't play

Good day. I just this week purchased a Roku Ultra, a wonderful piece of equipment. All works well except for the Roku Channel. For example, I want to watch the movie Big. I select it, then hit Play. The screen clears, shows a Retrieve progress line, and before the retrieve is finished, it goes back to the previous screen that shows the Play button. Same problem in every movie I have tried. Help?

What country are you in? Could be Geo blocked.

That could be why.. even though you're not in a blocked region, some content could accidentally be blocked, just because you're not in the mainland of the United States. Let Roku know, and they should be able to fix it.

And, I can here him now. "The best way to let Roku know would be...?" Well, with a Roku Ultra, fill out a service request here: https://support.roku.com/contactus

As an Ultra owner, you'll get more options. Sure, you'll get prompted to look at videos and such. And do that. You might find that something was done different. I don't expect that to be the case, but you need know.

After you jump through all those hoops, you'll finally be able to leave them information about the issue. Describe all you've done here. Mention your location, your Roku model number, your Roku firmware version, your app software version, and anything else that might be useful. They'll respond, I don't know, soon?

Of course, when RokuShawnS gets back to work -- he appears to be taking some time off for Christmas -- he'll see this and likely respond. But we don't know when he'll be back full time. RokuDale is around, but he doesn't normally respond to this type of stuff. But, he might have some information he can pass along if he sees this. But, I still think a message to the support page will be your best bet for now.

NO, it's the channel, same with me, could access it since the Roku channel started and now all of a sudden no luck.  I can still get everything else but the Roku channel.  Something is going on with them, which is kinda crazy since we use an actual Roku.  It's not where you are, I'm in Texas.

I purchased three new Roku and they are garbage, use to be good.  I guess like any company, as soon as they make it big they start trying to make more money by making cheaper junk.  I never had a problem with my older ones but the new ones I've only had a few months are already having issues, not just one but all of them.

Are you using a VPN?

Also, have you tried: 1) remove the app, 2) reboot the Roku, 3) reinstall the app (all those steps, in that order)?

Do you still have the older Roku devices? Have you tried to see if the app with issues — Roku Channel, according to your other post — has troubles on the older device?
