Premium channels such as CNN - am I getting charged to watch?

watching the debate last night I noticed a pad lock on  my tv.   Am I getting charged to view CNN

There is no charge to watch anything on a Roku device unless you actively subscribe to something. Sometimes premium channels, such as CNN, offer free viewing of some particular event. This might have been what you were watching last night. What particular channel were you watching this through?
