Playback issues / apps closing

On my Roku tv as well as Roku device on a different different tv, in several apps when it gets to a commercial, the app closes! I’ve rebooted the device as well as unplugged the Roku tv but nothing helps. What’s going on?

They are Channel specific problems we'd need to which ones

It happened on a new Sharp Roku Tv on the AMC app, and on a Hisense tv with a Roku streaming stick on AMC, Sundance, and Amazon Prime.
