Overseas use and returned to the US

Jump to solution

I was gifted a Roku (from the US) while living overseas. I used it in the U.K. for 2 years and had UK channels. Now I’m back in the US, but I can’t search for and find (let alone download) any US channels. For example, no HBO GO. How do I get it to recognize I’m in the US and find US channels?  Thanks.

It sounds like you may have created a Roku account that isn't located in your current region. If a channel isn't appearing in Search, it may indicate that your device is linked to an account that was created in a different region where that channel may not be offered by the channel provider. You will need to create a new Roku account in the correct region, factory reset your device, then link it to the new account created in your current region.

We'd also recommend reaching out to the channel provider directly for more help and information regarding the availability of their service on the Roku platform in your area. They can also assist with any login or troubleshooting questions that you may have.

Thanks,
Danny
