My other apps work but I get an error code with HULU P-DEV320. I can see the menu but when I try to play something it gives me this code. Also, on Distney+, I can see the menu of items but when I select it gives me the error, protected content license error. I can watch both apps on another device so I assume it is a ROKU issue.
In a chat session with Hulu, I found out that the Roku Express is not accepting updates from Hulu and therefore, is giving the error. I will have to upgrade the device.
@amylords Roku Express devices have not stopped receiving updates or support. That type of error from Hulu is either content specific or something related to the Hulu channel's functionality. This is not a Roku device generated error, it is generated by the channel itself. Apologies for any misinformation you may have received, but I would recommend contacting Hulu support for more help.
Disney+ is working on some issues that have related to customers seeing errors on multiple devices. I would also recommend following up with them directly to report that error, request support and any additional status updates they may have to share.
My Roku Ultra (new) will only rarely stream movies on Hulu. 50% of the time Hulu throws out an error-5 or P-DEV321 0r 320 or 329. If I do a connection check through Roko it fails with 0 Mbps or passes with 1 Mbps. I have it hardwired to an ethernet network and if I run Netflix and do their test I get 54 Mbps. I have also tried wireless at 5 ghz and also 2.4 with the same results.
i have done some testing with this and found that i get the "protected content license error" only when i try to stream on two ROKU devices simultaneously. I can stream on multiple laptops, samsung TV, android device, iOS device etc. as Disney+ allows 4 simultaneous streams. but i can only stream from ONE roku device at a time. the first ROKU device to connect plays fine, but the second gets the error. i have 4 roku devices and this theory has held true every single time.
As i mentioned, this error is SPECIFIC to multiple ROKU devices. Any idea on a solution to this?
Thanks for the inquiry.
For any playback, licensing, or location errors you may be seeing, or if you need help signing into the Disney+ channel on your Roku device, please contact Disney+ support. You can reach them here: https://help.disneyplus.com/ or by calling 888-905-7888.
We'd recommend trying to remove the channel from the Roku home screen, restart your device from Settings>System>System restart, then add the channel back again. If that still doesn't clear up the issue, as a last report troubleshooting method, you might try performing a factory reset on your device, then setting it up again from scratch. See the steps for this here: https://support.roku.com/article/208757008-how-do-i-factory-reset-my-roku-streaming-device-
Thanks but this is of no help. i already tried removing the channel and re-adding as well as a full factory reset.
if there is no solution for this i think i will just replace my media players and do away with the Roku units.
I have to go along with Danny - it is a HULU and DISNEY+ issue - my ROKU TV and EXPRESS worked perfectly fine until I added the DISNEY+ feature and suddenly I get this : I have the same issue, and have had this issue multiple times before. It got really bad after adding Disney+ . error = P-DEV320 Unique Error ID ID a975415d-f1ab-4ac7-ba0e-99251476974c/ Local Time (this time) 2019/12/19 16:19:10(UTC-6). Unfortunately - HULU appears to be experiencing major issues in and of itself. There is no customer support available, no chat, no Hulubot, no phone and you cannot upload to their forum - I think the crossover/connection with Disney has confused their programming/operating systems (not shows, their network infrastructure) and they are having serious issues figuring it out.
I believe it IS the Roku. We can stream Hulu on our laptops, iPad and phones with no problem, but we consistently get that error ONLY on the tv connected to the Roku. My husband is so frustrated with receiving this error every single hour that he is close to canceling it.
