Not able to install Channels

Jump to solution

I purchased Roku Ultra couple of years back in US. I have since moved to India and I am unable install any of apps like Roku, Prime Video, etc etc.

In the Channel store, these Channels are not even shown so how in the world is anyone supposed to install it.

While looking through the posts on this board, I discovered that this problem is faced by many as in the name of region locking, Roku is depriving customers of using Channels that make Roku Ultra such a a great streamer.

Is there someway my region be restored to US so that at least I can download some of the channels that are available there?

Right now, Roku ultra feels like a very expensive paper weight!

Thanks for the inquiry.

It sounds like you may have created a Roku account that isn't located in your current region. If channels in your region are not available, it may indicate that your device is linked to an account that was created in a different region where that channel may not be offered by the channel provider. You'll want to make sure that you are using an internet connection located in the correct region when creating your account. You can check your IP address' reported location by visiting www.whatismyip.com - If you see an issue, you'll need to contact your ISP to help resolve any issue.

We would recommend creating a new Roku account in your region. For more information about how to create a new account, visit our Support page here: How do I create a Roku® account? Once your new account is set up, try to perform a factory reset on your device and link it to your new account. I am having the same issue except I live in Canada and have been since buying my Roku. It won’t let me download canadian channels and gives me an error that it’s out of my region. I don’t understand why because I had a specific channel before accidentally deleting it and now I can’t download it again. Super frustrated!
