Does opening the YouTube app and selecting "YouTube TV" in the lower left corner present an insurmountable obstacle to you?

That is not the point. Google provided the workaround but it was Roku that yanked the YouTube TV app by its own choice.
They should both figure this out and Roku should let the app remain in the meantime.

@Wancell

Here is a pretty good simple article that explains the debate. https://disruptmagazine.com/the-battle-rages-on-why-roku-removed-youtubetv-from-roku-channel/  (Just one source, one take, but provides both company's positions and responses.)

Currently, as @StreamerUser indicated, anyone can access YoutubeTV from within the regular Youtube Channel.  This "workaround" appears to be a nice compromise since Google and Youtube do not allow such "workarounds" for content creators that are accused of violating a given policy agreement. (strikes/warnings/video and channel removals).   These content creators cannot simply use another backup channel or use another content creator's channel to stream their content.  They are not afforded this opportunity to provide alternative access or workarounds during a disagreement or review.

For these content creators and for those that used Youtube to view such content, many have had to find or build completely different methods and multiple platforms in order to create and view such content. (and, at great expense for some.)

Personally, an extra click or two of the remote does not seem unreasonable.  I am pleased to see that Roku still allows its users to access YoutubeTV in this manner.

It is not that Roku is allowing the workaround.  It is YTTV that came up with this work around.

Imagine if Roku did not allow the standard YT app.  Let the exit begin..
