No Pluto TV Channel Available On Roku

Jump to solution

I have a Roku Premiere with software v 10.0.0.  When I do a Channel Search for Pluto TV it isn't present. I have used Search and also reviewed all of the Channel categories. It isn't listed. I then did a System Update and a System Reboot.  Still not present. I then logged on to my online account and Pluto TV was right there with an offer to Add it. So I did. However it does not appear on the Roku player.  Now when I go back to my online account there is no Pluto TV.  What the heck is going on?  I know dozens of people with Pluto TV on their Roku. Why isn't mine able to Find, Add, and Use it?

@BlackFish

Thanks for the post.

It sounds like you may have created a Roku account that isn't located in your current region. If channels in your region are not available, it may indicate that your device is linked to an account that was created in a different region where that channel may not be offered by the channel provider. You'll want to make sure that you are using an internet connection located in the correct region when creating your account. You can check your IP address' reported location by visiting www.whatismyip.com - If you see an issue, you'll need to contact your ISP to help resolve any issue.

We would recommend creating a new Roku account in your region. For more information about how to create a new account, visit our Support page here: How do I create a Roku® account? Once your new account is set up, try to perform a factory reset on your device and link it to your new account. For more information about how to perform a factory reset, visit our Support page here: How do I factory reset my Roku® streaming device?

Please keep us posted what you find out.

Re: No Pluto TV Channel Available On Roku

My online account was created from the USA. My Roku player is connected to my ISP in the USA. I can't fathom why an online account (which is completely separate from the Roku device) would alter what Channels I can access from the Channel Store on the Roku.  If Roku is altering Channel choice based on last logon to the online account then it would be nice to make that apparent. (many people use VPNs which may change the "location" of a browser logon but has nothing to do with where a Roku device is operating). So there is nothing in your post that provides any help for my problem.

I did as you requested.  Did a factory reset on my Roku device and connected it to a new online account. Now the user interface on the Roku is completely different than it was before. And the collection of Channels available is different too. Talk about making things very confusing.  Pluto is now there but some of the Channels I had before are absent.
