Newsy stuck on always playing ads?

Anyone else notice problems with Newsy on the Roku?

It used to be that after a couple Newsy reports would be about 3 ads with the counter in the upper left going as follows:

3 of 3

 

Recently it has been claiming it will play 8 ads which is a little disappointing but then in counts them off as follows:

1 of 8

2 of 8

3 of 8

4 of 8

5 of 8

1 of 8

 

To be clear, I didn't leave the room and come back to it playing an new ad break.  It goes *directly* from the end of playing 5 of 8 to then indicating there is another 8 ads to go starting from *1*.

It doesn't always loop back from 5 of 8, sometimes it is 6 of 10 when it loops back to 1.  But the problem is recurring.  This isn't a one time glitch.

For the most part, the Newsy Roku channel has become unwatchable resulting in me migrating over to using the Haystack channel instead.

If others are running into the same problem, I will consider getting in touch with Newsy directly.  Otherwise, I think I am just going to give up on it.

We recommend starting here to troubleshoot channel issues: Follow these steps in order:
1.Navigate to the channel tile on the Roku home screen, press the * key on your remote, and choose 'Remove channel'.
2.Next, restart your device from Settings>System>System restart. (For Roku TV Settings>System>Power>System restart)
3.Once your player/TV starts up again, go to 'Streaming Channels' on the Home screen, and add the channel back once more.

If that still doesn't clear up the issue you're experiencing, we recommend contacting the channel provider directly to follow up for more help. They’ll be able to best assist with any issues that are occurring within their channel.

I had already tried the remove, restart and reinstall (it would be nice if this could be a single step option under *).  That has resolved issues with other channels in the past but has not with Newsy.

Also resetting the Ad identifier under the Roku privacy settings didn't change anything.

Again, if this is an issue only impacting me, I am not going through the hoops with Newsy's inquiry/support form.
