Re: New Roku box. WTF Netflix auto preview?

Same here. Disabled the settings on Netflix Web and trailers/previews still auto play

I had to do a RESTART of Roku TV before autoplay previews stopped. SETTINGS -- SYSTEM -- POWER - SYSTEM RESTART. Do not have an external Roku device to know if it has RESTART option in Roku OS menu or just do a power cycle of unit. That should do the trick and free us all from the autoplay previews onslaught!!

I have done all suggested fixes except a factory reset of Roku. Netflix still dose the awful auto preview.

I also had to sign out of my Netflix account and sign back in again (through the app), to load the profile info updated through the web.  No more blaring previews while hunting for something to watch.  Nice.

Re: New Roku box. WTF Netflix auto preview?

Solved! I also hate the auto preview feature and finally got rid of it. It takes action in both a web brower and then in Roku (my Roku is a TV, I hope it works the same of those with an external unit)

First follow the Netflix support steps to turn off Auto Preview

  1. From a web browser, go to your Account page.

  2. Open the Profile & Parental Controls settings for the profile you want to use.

  3. Select Playback settings.

  4. Check Autoplay previews while browsing on all devices.

    • To stop autoplaying previews, uncheck the box.

  5. Select Save.

After following these steps my Roku continued play Auto Preview. So to refresh my account settings I removed Netflix from Roku.

Then I reinstalled it from the Streaming Channels.

I then had to log back into Netflix AND JOY - no more Auto Preview!!! And all my lists were correct. Hope this helps others as the Auto Preview is frustrating if it is not wanted.
