Network channels not authorized

This has been going on for months. I have a Sharp Roku TV. I am unable to use the NBC, NBC Sports or ABC apps. They say I don't subscribe to those channels.Huh? Then how am I able to watch the live channels? I watch NBC & ABC all the time, but try to watch replays on the Roku channels-nope. Not allowed. I just added BBC America. Same thing. But I can watch HBO GO. I have contacted Roku support twice. What is their suggestion? Remove the channel & re-add it. That does nothing. I am ready to get a Chromecast or a Blu Ray player.

Re: Network channels not authorized

Apps specific to certain providers require a cable/satellite subscription to work. Doesn't matter if you can receive them over the air. They are only available through a paid subscription. HBO GO is also subscription based, but if I recall correctly you can subscribe to it without having a cable/satellite service.

HBO GO is for authenticating against an existing cable/satellite/streaming service. HBO NOW is the app for the standalone HBO service.

Yeah, I can never keep those two straight in my head. I don't use them, so always forget!  Smiley LOL
