Message from ESPN: This Roku device is no longer supporting ESPN app updates.

My current device is ....

 Roku 2 XS

Software version: 9.1.0

Build: 5006

Last updated : Dec 5, 2019

 

Do I need a new device?

Yes - that device is quite old (9 years).

You can get a newer model for $30, $40, $50, or $100 - check your local retailers (Wal-Mart etc)

Will getting a new box solve the espn channel problem and give me updated tv programming?

It will allow you to use the latest version of the ESPN app.

Programming is an app provider issue.

The Following ROKU models are older models that are NOT SUPPORTED nor receiving updates:

Roku LT 2400X/EU
Roku LT 2450X
Roku HD 2500X
Roku 2 HD 3000X
Roku 2 XD 3050X
Roku 2 XS 3100X/EU
Roku Streaming Stick 3400X
Roku Streaming Stick 3420X

As @StreamerUser stated, the Roku 2XS is a much older Roku device that is no longer supported. However, we would be happy to see what we can do to help get you back up and running.
