Link a TV to a free online imdb tv account

Jump to solution

I just found out we can watch IMDB TV on the Roku stick.  I created an account on my laptop, but every time I try to login, it asks me to enter a code at www.amazon.com/code.  If I do that, there is no way that I have found to link the TV to the account.  On the laptop I can create a watchlist, clear history, etc.  Does anyone know how to link them together?

@NCaron

Thanks for the inquiry.

For more information about that channel's features and functionality, you'll want to contact the channel provider support directly to inquire further. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.

You can reach IMDB TV support here: https://help.imdb.com/contact

Thanks,
Danny

What is the solution to create a History.com account with Roku Streaming connected to WiFi internet and a TV with no cable company?

I attempted to create a History.com account to use my Roku but it locks up at the question, "enter your provider."

@GaryNewOrleans  The History channel isn’t free. You can’t just make an account. In order to watch anything on the History channel for your Roku you need a tv provider. Which means if you have a tv provider you log into the History channel with your TV provider credentials.8B6B96A4-30C4-485B-80A0-AB492FCF590C.jpeg

As indicated by @Streamer317 , the History Channel is one of those Channels/apps that cannot be installed as a standalone Channel/app. (no direct subscription).  You have to access it through a "provider".

Generally, whenever you see cable/satellite or other TV provider required, and you do not have cable/satellite, then you can use a "cable-alternative" streaming provider like Hulu, Vidgo, Philo, Sling and YoutubeTV. (https://channelstore.roku.com/browse/cable-alternative)

I don't know specifically if each of them carry the History Channel, but I know that Hulu and Vidgo do and both offering 7day free trials so may be worth exploring.  Or research the others and see if any may be a good fit for you if you need the History Channel.

Vidgo - https://www.vidgo.com/plans/

Hulu - https://www.hulu.com/network/history-b293624f-4105-4a60-8375-86e875d10c65

----

You can however subscribe directly to History Vault Channel/app on your Roku device (https://channelstore.roku.com/details/ba7fda70f342eb18a03fd08fcece531e/history-vault) which gives you access to the History Channel, but not the Live TV portion. (cannot watch Live).

The History Vault is also offering a 7-day free trial currently.

More info here re: History Vault (https://support.history.com/hc/en-us/articles/218972398-What-is-HISTORY-Vault-)

Hope that helps you a bit.

@Streamer317

Thanks for the info.  Also looks like Sling in both their Blue and Orange packages offer it. ($35/mo, $10 off first month).
