I can't add The History Channel without a service provider?

I got rid of cable and got the Roku Sreaming Stick +. I am trying to add the History Channel but it wants me to select a service provider. I don't have a service provider. I got rid of that and got Roku. I dont understand

This is typical for cable channels that offer a Roku channel.  Many offer no way to pay for a separate subscription.  I know it doesn't make any sense, but that's the way it is.  You'll need a provider.  Sometimes you can use something like Sling as your provider, but I don't know if that would be sufficient for The History Channel.
