How can I tell if the channel I added is free?

Jump to solution

We're thinking about getting rid of our fiber optic TV and just sticking with Roku. If I add a channel to Roku, how can I tell if there's a cost associated with it? I noticed some say "requires a cable...subscription" and some don't. Is that the only indicator? I specifically want to add NBC, ESPN, and Nick/Nick Jr. if we're going to make the switch, but need to know the cost to figure out if it will save us money.

@kristenc1

Thanks for the inquiry.

The easiest way to tell if there is a charge associated with a channel is if there is a cost upon installation (the channel will prompt you of this charge), if the channel requires a direct subscription to the channel (such as Netflix), or if the channel requires a TV or cable subscription.
