HBOMax stopped streaming last night.

I have a Roku premium I bought last month specifically to stream HBOMax (free with my phone plan)

It worked fine until last night.  We watched a show from 4-6 pm and was great.  Then I went to watch a show at 8:30 PM.  Picture was OK, audio was like nails on a chalkboard.  Then it just stopped and showed dots blinking left to right (buffering?).

Now when I try to start the show, it just shows the dots for a couple of minutes, then kicks me back out to the show's page.

Following suggestions i saw here:  I've restarted the Roku, uninstalled and reinstalled the HBOMax app and powered the Roku off and on.  I was also on line with HBO and they've kicked it to a specialist.

One item of interest - I checked the software info.  Roku installed updates at 8:08 PM last night.  Which is in the period between successfully watching HBOMax and NOT doing so.  I wonder if the update created an incompatibility.

If RokuOS 10 or a newer build of OS9.4 installed, try checking for updates again:  Settings/System/System updates/Check now (there are compatibility layer updates for many apps necessary in order to properly function with the newer OS version).
