Since we can access HBO Max content through Prime Video, does anyone know if Prime will also support 4K once HBO Max starts streaming in 4K with Wonder Woman? Prime Video itself does 4K for it's own content so I would assume so, but can't get any answers about it!
You can't access HBO Max content through Prime Video, only HBO linear content, the same stuff available on the Roku HBO app. Same with Hulu and Youtube TV's HBO offerings on Roku.
HBO Max content, including Wonder Woman 1984, can only be accessed through the HBO Max app and there isn't one on Roku yet because Roku is demanding more money from AT&T than Amazon, Samsung, or Apple got. Roku is also demanding that HBO Max content be integrated with the Roku Channel and AT&T is refusing, insisting that their programming be available only on their own app, just like Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video.
Wonder Woman 1984 is the first thing HBO Max will stream in 4K and they've said that all of their theatrical releases will be in 4K too but haven't yet committed to anything else being available 4K.
Yes you can access HBO Max content through Prime Video, hence my question. They announced it a few weeks ago... here's from the HBO Max website:
Stream all of HBO Max
Once you add HBO on Prime Video Channels to your Prime membership, you can stream all of HBO together with a collection of classic TV favorites, even more blockbuster movies, and new Max Originals.
To stream all of HBO Max, sign in through Prime Video Channels. Here's how:
This is a Roku forum, and NO you cannot get HBO Max through Prime if you use a Roku, as it is not a "supported device".
