Re: Fyre tv

Since Fyre TV isn't in the Channel Store, you're using what Roku calls a "non-certified" app (or channel). That means Roku doesn't support it.

However, there are some tips regarding apps in general that might help. When an app misbehaves in the manner you describe, removing and reinstalling it may help. Be sure to perform that this way, all three steps, in this order:

  1. Remove the app
  2. Reboot the Roku
  3. Reinstall the app

Try that and see if it resolves your issue.

Re: Fyre tv

Yes, same here- it lost the credentials and going into the linking again bounces you out of the app. I am on an 'old' roku though.... but I suspect the problem is with FyreTv...

FyreTV going out of business?

I think FyreTV is struggling financially...on brink of folding...they haven't had new movies in a long time. I have a huge purchased library with them. FyreTV now allows downloading your library (never did before) but I cannot to that as my library is simply too large (I'd need multiple hard drives). I hope they make provisions for my library to be kept on cloud and accessible to me (they promised "lifetime" access). FyreTV was excellent at one point -- their interface the best. But they never got access to newer studios and that blunted their expansion. FyreTV also got into a legal action against Amazon over the name FyreTV/FireTV (they once owned both domains) but my understanding is they simply had poor representation and the action was not pursued with the best angle. I hope they reboot and reach out and expand from their original limited customer base. AdultEmpire is an excellent alternative and I wish FyreTV had followed their business model (AE is more directly connected to the adult business, offers many newer studios, and has a significant social media presence (Twitter, YouTube).  Again I'm hoping I can get access to my FyreTV library on Roku again (for all I know it's gone for good -- I haven't checked their website on browser).

Re: FyreTV going out of business?

That's not the problem. Roku is trying to make it impossible to access adult channels through them. Disappointing for a lot of us.

@peachesinacan

Who told you that? Don't listen to them. They'll tell you things that are wrong.

Roku removed all non-certified apps. Content was not a factor.

Roku requires apps to meet certain coding criteria, and support certain features and functions. Many app developers got around these requirements by posting apps in the non-certified library, which was for beta apps, but then never developing the apps to standards.

In October 2021, Roku announced all non-certified apps had 120 days to get in line or begone. Those that re-coded to standard, submitted for certification, and met certification requirements (including no piracy or other such violations) were certified. Those that did not were removed.

And before anyone anyone says it, Roku's app submission process includes a place to list an app as "Adult."

So, again, be careful what misinformation you decide to listen to.

Re: FyreTV going out of business?

Then please, tell us what porn app is certified, because I've been trying to get one of the many uncertified ones I've found codes for to work for weeks.

Re: FyreTV going out of business?

@peachesinacan

I don't know of any that have gone through certification. I've not looked for any. But I've not looked for Smurfs, Joel Osteen, French language programming, or many other things. You could search. I suspect you won't find any, as from what I've seen, they seem to all be focusing on side-loading apps on the various platforms rather than going through certification. The ones mentioned in other threads all seem to be taking the "bandit app" approach.

Because of the abuse of the system by some developers -- leaving an app non-certified to avoid Roku's app requirements -- Roku put into place restrictions on the number of apps a developer can have in Beta, as well as how long an app can be in Beta (120 days) and the number of Beta users for each app. As such, unless you are in a Beta program for a developer, you probably won't get access to a current code to enter, and if you did, you'd have to be one of the first ones, as there are limits.

Re: Fyre tv......................

More than just being kicked out, they removed the app period.

Re: Fyretv access on Roku

Roku has completely banned FyreTV and all adult channels. FyreTV is shady, after over ten years of purchasing content and establishing a library on there, I am somehow locked out of it entirely and when I try to reset my password it doesn’t send me an email to do so. Their “customer service” doesn’t respond to emails either. It’s crooked.
