Frndly (NOT) upgrades require cancelling it first?

Why is it that I have to cancel my subscription to Frndly in order to UPGRADE it?  Absolutely EFFING ridiculous.

And why can't I upgrade through the frndly website?  Another failure on this platform.  Should have gone with the firestick....
