Help & troubleshooting for channels on your Roku device, including adding/removing channels, logging in to, authenticating, or activating a channel, channel-specific playback issues, assistance contacting channel publishers to report issues, and adjusting channel-specific settings.
Thanks for letting us know about the issue that you are experiencing.
If Fox News is the only channel that you observe this issue with, it's possible there may be an issue within the channel itself that the service provider will need to investigate.
I'd recommend reaching out to Fox News directly to report the issue and request additional support. Many channels on the Roku platform is developed and maintained by the channel provider directly, and they'll be able to best assist.
Feel free to PM me if you have any further questions once you've contacted them and I'll follow up to see how else we can assist.
So here we are coming up on a year since the original post and the problem continues. It's been happening on both my Roku Streaming Stick Plus and Roku Ultra, both purchased in the past couple of weeks. I access the channel through my Spectrum TV account and it only happens with the Fox News Channel . . . I have not had this issue at all with any other apps whether associated with my Spectrum account or otherwise . . . very frustrating when this is the channel I want to watch most often and was my whole reason for going with the Roku devices (since they directly support the Spectrum app). Please resolve! Thank you!
I'm having the same problem with the Fox News app. It's the only app on my Roku TV that doesn't work. Always with the "Unexpected Error." The Roku Community manager TannerD posted links to contact Fox news digital support about this and after following that link and writing them, they basically got back to me with an automatically generated email saying "we can't reply to every email" etc. So yeah, no help. Just more run around. Spectrum contacted next and guess what? No help.
What next Roku Gurus?? Should we start talking conspiracy theories? First YouTube, then Google and now Roku doesn't want us accessing conservative content either? Stranger things have happened. Regardless it's completely maddening when nobody seems to care enough to fix something that obviously must affect thousands of people who own Roku TVs.
I've had the same thought regarding the conservative content - this is the ONLY channel I have this issue with! I'm all about giving the parties involved opportunity to correct this in a timely manner, but short of that, perhaps the next step is reaching out through other social media channels.
I agree, we should give them an opportunity to fix this problem in a "timely" manner. Is almost 2 years enough time to figure it out? That's when this thread was first started and if you look around in other places it's been an issue way before that. It's completely unacceptable.
I agree completely . . . totally unacceptable and with the lack of attention to this issue, it raises the level of suspicion even higher - Accessing a number of other channels on a regular basis, this is the only channel I have come across with this issue. It occurs almost daily and sometimes even requires re-connecting with a new access code. This needs to be resolved!
