First remote problems & now not adding channels

I got home today and powered on my TV with my Roku remote. I have the Roku stick. The only buttons on the remote that would work were the power and volume buttons. I googled and read how to restart every think so I did. When I went to add channels and it was loading it old me channels cannot be added because there is a system update. I have checked for an update several times and there is no update. I have restarted everything and still no luck.

Thanks for the post.

If you are unable to resolve the issue, can you please provide us the following information:
-Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
-does this issue occur when adding a specific channel? if so, what channel? 
-tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)
-steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing

Once we have this information we will be able to assist you further.
