Espn

I use Roku and have an ESPN plus subscription.  Every time I try to use the ESPN app on my phone or tv app through it asks me to visit the ESPN site and log in my a code with tv provider.  I don’t have a provider but did previously when I first subscribed with ESPN.  So,i cannot see content.  Please help

Re: Espn

ESPN was getting somewhere around $7-10 of your monthly cable/satellite subscription fee, depending on the deal negotiated with your provider. ESPN will not provide you with a streaming service unless you are paying for ESPN as part of a paid subscription with a provider.

Re: Espn

So, if I use roku for my tv with no cable provider and also use my iPad to watch ESPN plus streaming content there is no reason to continue to pay for my ESPN plus as it will not work On either on my iPad or through Roku?

Re: Espn

My understanding is ESPN+ is an extension to the basic ESPN provider service.  I don't think it is a stand-alone service  -- I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

There are several streaming services you can subscribe to that include ESPN and can serve as your provider in lieu of a cable/satellite subscription.

Re: Espn

I don't have ESPN+, just the regular channel. But it won't recognize my login. They want you to go to ESPN.com/activate. They give you a code to log in. OK, I did that, so I am logged in, until I actually try to watch something, then it's "account not recognized". Tired of this. Deleted the channel off my RokuTv, & watched the event directly on ESPN website. Not the first time this has happened.

@Bob_in_Cali

Thanks for the post.

For more information about that channel's authentication and functionality, you'll want to contact ESPN  support directly to inquire further. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.

You can reach ESPN support here: https://support.espn.com/hc/en-us

Thanks,
Danny
