Does Roku work in the Philippines?

Jump to solution

I am planning to buy a Roku device here in the US and will bring it in the Philippines. I was wondering if it will work there? If it will work, how do I know what channels are available when in the Philippines? If you have a list of channels supported in the Philippines, that would be great.

Do Netflix and Youtube work in the Philippines through Roku?

Hi there,

Thanks for the note. We don't have a specific list of channels that would be supported in that region on Roku, but in general, Netflix and YouTube tend to be available and work in most locations. Other channels may not be available, due to service limitations or geo-restrictions. We'd recommend reaching out to any specific channel provider that you're interested in directly to see if they offer their channel on the Roku platform in your location currently.

Thanks,

Tanner

I have Roku Express bought in Texas and I use it here in the Philippines. We have Netflix and Youtube but that's just about it. No HBO channels, no Amazon, no Hulu, not even Disney. Which is so sad. Better use a laptop instead.

@Johnsail2000

Thanks for the inquiry.

Channel availability/access on Roku devices will vary from region to region. A Roku device will work in any location, however, channels may not be available on your device in that location, based on each channel provider's discretion. For more information, you'd want to contact any specific channel/service provider to inquire further about whether they offer their channel/service on the Roku platform in your region.

In addition, please be aware that you may also need a power converter for your TV depending on the power supply provided in your location.

Thanks,
Danny

You will not be able to use the other apps besides Youtube, netflix, and iwanttfc. Network related apps will not work.

In the Philippines, as of November 1, 2021  the only good streaming channels available are: Netflix, Youtube, iWantTFC and that's it. NO Hulu, NO Amazon, No Disney Plus.
