Disney+ Asking for a Login--Cannot Reinstall Channel to Fix

Jump to solution

I've seen that other people have had this problem and they were able to remove the channel and re-add it, but I don't have that option, so...

Disney+ is asking for a login, but I subscribe through Roku, so there's no login for me to put in. I found another community board where someone was able to remove Disney+, restart the system, then re-add Disney+, and that fixed the problem.

However, since I subscribe through Roku, there is no option to remove the channel (which is dumb, Roku, but that's a topic for another day).

I have this problem on multiple devices, so restarting or updating the system won't help. I've already tried updating Disney+, but that didn't help either.

So what's the trick? How do I make Disney+ stop asking me for a login without my being able to reinstall the channel?

Thanks!

Your login should be whatever email address you used when you created your D+ sub - try the email address associated with your Roku account.

I've also seen reports that you have to go to disneyplus.com and login at least once with your Roku Pay credentials to fully create/activate your D+ account.

Otherwise, contact D+ support and find out the login info for your account.

As a last resort, you could contact Roku Billing and try to find out the login info associated with your D+ sub.

And yes, it was a terrible UI/UX decision to prevent apps from being user-removable if the service is subscribed to through Roku Pay, but typical for Roku and other tech companies who think they know best how you should use your device(s).
