Decent New Channels

Every so often I look to see what new channels are available. About 70% are Classic TV and after viewing screenshots or installing, most play the same content.

When I bought my first Roku ( own 3 now) even common channels like CBS, National Geographic, etc, would let you create an account and log in. Now most of those are only available with Cable Provider sign in.

If this direction is continued then I may not be purchasing any more Roku devices.

Originally, I bought my Roku to help me get away from cable. I subscribe to Hulu and Netflix and don't mind paying for some TV. I'm asking that Roku starts looking into promoting a better list of available channels.

Re: Decent New Channels

@OH_Streamer Thanks for reaching out. We have some resources available that may help you find more free content available to watch on your Roku device:

- Check out the Roku Blog for featured free content, promotional highlights from various channels, and more: https://blog.roku.com/category/free-to-watch

- The Roku Channel offers a wide variety of free on-demand movies and TV shows, as well as live, linear TV channels ranging from News and Sports, to Cooking, Entertainment and more. You can install The Roku Channel from 'Streaming Channels' on your device, or by signing into your Roku account in the online channel store here: https://channelstore.roku.com/details/151908/the-roku-channel

- Our online channel store also features a Free Movies and TV shows category to help you find channels that offer free content here: https://channelstore.roku.com/browse/free-movies-and-tv

Some channel providers only require that you create a free online user profile to watch their service. Once you create a free profile, you simply log in within their channel, without needing to pay for a TV subscription. Be sure to check each channel's requirements or contact their support team for more information.

Hope that helps offer some more options for you!

Thanks,

Tanner
