Comedy Central App Not Working

Jump to solution

My Comedy Central app hasn’t worked for several months. It isn’t asking for payment or anything - it just says “Comedy Central is unavailable. Perhaps grab a snack, then try again.” I’ve deleted and reloaded the app, restarted my Roku, everything I can think of — but nothing works. Help!

Did you make sure to remove the channel, restart the device, and then add the channel once more all in that order?

As a last troubleshooting step, you might also try performing a factory reset on your Roku device, and set it up again once more.

If the issue remains unresolved from there, and other channels are working normally, I'd recommend reaching out to Comedy Central directly to report the issue and request additional support. Many channels on the Roku platform are developed and maintained by the channel provider directly, and they'll be able to best assist. If other channels are working correctly, and you only experience this issue on the Comedy Central channel (app), that is likely an indication that the issue lies within that particular channel. In these cases, the channel provider will need to investigate the issue in order to help resolve it.

My Comedy Central app on my roku constantly goes back to the app from live programming. I have removed the channel and re installed it. Any suggestions?

Probably a bug and you’ll have to wait for the next update— now that CC is also on HBO Max I’ve found it a little buggy. Also: if you have an older Roku, it might be maxed out on memory if you have a lot of apps installed; if this problem happens first thing when you start, then that is not the problem.

Hi @Cphelps1968,

Thanks for letting us know about the issue that you are experiencing.

Have you restarted your Roku device after removing and before adding the channel back? If removing the channel and adding it back after you've restarted the device does not resolve the channel issue, I'd recommend reaching out to the channel support directly to report the issue and request additional support. Many channels on the Roku platform are developed and maintained by the channel provider directly, and they'll be able to best assist. If other channels are working correctly, and you only experience this issue on that channel (app), that is likely an indication that the issue lies within that particular channel. In these cases, the channel provider will need to investigate the issue in order to help resolve it.
