Cinemax

Does anyone know if Cinemax will be going to Roku ever?  It seems to be the last one of the cable channels that I can stream for free with a cable subscription that isn't on Roku's lineup.  And it's odd because it is owned by HBO which was one of the first cable channels to stream to Roku.

Re: Cinemax

Nobody knows. Or, if anyone knows, they won't say until it's announced at https://blog.roku.com/

By the way, that's always the answer for any questions that go "Does anybody know when Roku will ..." Always.

Now, we can tell you how to get Cinemax via Roku. If you subscribe to Sling TV, DirecTV Now, PlayStation Vue, or Hulu, you can add Cinemax to your service. Prices vary from $5/month to $15/month.

And, you can subscribe to Cinemax as a stand-alone service via PlayStation Vue; that is, without an existing service package.

Re: Cinemax

I don't want to have to pay for those services since I get it for free.  I don't want Cinemax badly, but every once in a while I was see a movie on it that I would like to watch.

I just figured there might be a specific reason why it's not available while all the other premium cable channels are, such as a contract dispute.

Cinemax is also available as an add-on to Amazon Prime.

Re: Cinemax

Another option is to use PlayOn.  They have a MaxGO channel you can use to access Cinemax through your Roku.  I just did tonight to watch the exceptional
film, "The Book of Henry".  You may need to pay for a license for PlayOn, which I have got the Lifetime license.  PlayOn, like PLEX, utilizes your computer to
access content.  This is a legal way to access Cinemax, as you still need your login credentials to access content.  Hope this is helpful.
