On the other hand, some services have two separate streaming options, one that requires a tv provider login and requires no further payments, and one you can pay to subscribe to without a tv provider.
As an example, for Discovery you can either :
Install the Discovery GO app which requires you to log in with a tv provider where you have an account that allows you to view the Discovery Channel. You pay for this as part of your tv provider account.
Pay for a Discovery+ account and access it via the Discovery+ app. Log in with the credentials you established with your Discover+ subscription, no separate tv provider needed.
Be sure you install and are trying to log into the correct app for your subscription.
