I still have Dish, so adding the NBC should be easy as I have the provider. I have it added on the Firestick with no issues, but it used to work on my Roku Express, but it quit and said I needed to re-sign in. It never finds my account and I even have tried to connect via Google or Facebook. Still it doesn't work. By going to the Firestick, it automatically found my account, I presume through Google and no issues. Any idea why I cannot get it to work with my Roku now? Thanks.
Thanks for the note. In order to use channels such as this that require TV provider activation, you'll need to follow the activation process on that channel's website. You can see NBC's activation site for their standalone apps here: https://www.nbc.com/apps
From this channel on Roku, you'll need to go into the channel's Settings menu, select 'My Profile', then select 'Link' underneath TV Provider. This will display a code for you to use to activate the channel. Visit the website above, select Roku, and then follow the instructions on-screen to activate the channel on your Roku device.
I cannot sign into my NBC Profile although I was able to link my cable provider.
i have a brand new TCL Roku TV 65S425 and when I try to sign into my NBC profile by entering the activation code displayed in NBC App on the Roku TV (going to the url displayed onscreen, https://www.nbc.com/activate), the website continually says the activation code is incorrect or expired. I generate a new code, try again, and get the same results.
i tried going to the NBCUniversal family version of the activation url and entering the code as well (as suggested in the FAQs by NBC) and got the same result.
btw, this isn’t the only App that is not functioning properly. I’ve only had the TV 1 week and I am not happy with it.
Update: I tried to fix the issue by unlinking my cable tv Provider and signing back in.
Now neither the cable tv provider nor the NBC profile will link. Both show error messages of invalid or expired activation codes.
I have also removed and reinstalled the NBC App several times.
Apparently my cable tv provider was being automatically linked when I installed the NBC App (as I did not need to do it manually) and that is the only reason the cable portion was working. But the sign in/activation feature on the NBC App itself will not work.
