Can't watch Tennis Channel on second Roku device

Jump to solution

We purchased the Tennis Channel and it's been working fine on our primary home Roku.  But when we try to watch at our cabin on our second Roku device, the channel is there, but when we try to watch it, it asks us to log in again, and then activate with a code.  We already did this but OK...only it asks for a TV provider.  What?  Is there something we're missing - we're not able to watch it on our second Roku.  Netflix, Prime work fine on 2nd device.

@mrjansson

Thanks for the post.

Some channels will ask for the user to authenticate the channel to ensure that the user is authorized to access that channel with the appropriate credentials.

Thanks,
Danny

That's fine if they want to authenticate on the 2nd device (once) but as part of that process they kept asking us to enter our TV provider from a list of cable/satellite companies.  We don't have cable/satellite TV, we stream only.  So stuck there.  Then, when we got home to our primary residence, and now Tennis Channel wasn't working there either, even though it had been working before!  And it asked the same questions.  Frustrating, as we paid $110 and can't watch the channel!  And no phone support from Tennis Channel or Roku...I could cancel, but I want all $110 back in that case, and I suspect they won't send me any reimbursement, which really is theft.  Anyway, I'm miffed to say the least.  I'd prefer to get it to work though...

@mrjansson

Thanks for the information.

For more information about that channel's features and functionality, you'll want to contact Tennis Channel support directly to inquire further. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.

Thanks,

We have the same issue. Given code to authenticate and we do not have any of the offered providers. Now we can not watch it although yesterday we were able to.

Have you resolved the issue?

Thanks,

Nenad

Yes, I think you'll need to contact the Tennis Channel since Roku is just a device in this case.  By the way, I browsed their site and noticed this at the very bottom of their sign-up page:

"$109.99/annually. Cancel anytime. Note: Tennis Channel broadcast feed requires a TV subscription and is not included with Tennis Channel Plus."

So apparently you need both a TV provider and a subscription to get everything.

Thanks for the replies, but I have comments

- It is nice of Roku to tell me to contact Tennis Channel and wash their hands of this matter, but Roku advertised this service and collected the money. Roku should take care of it's customers.

- I have now contacted Tennis Channel by email and must admit that they responded promptly. However, despite the fact that I have sent them copies of my Roku package and confirmation from Tennis Channel they are still asking for more of the same information. They claim they can't find any information of me, dates of enrollment, my email  or my account although we used it in October and November. Just a run around.

   And the Australian Open starts today. Sheeez.
