Apple TV+ - not supported on Smart Tv

Jump to solution

I have a Roku TV (5315X) which apparently does not support the Apple TV+ channel. Is there a way I can get the Apple TV+ channel without buying a new tv?

@Jdcliff

Thanks for the post.

For more information about that channel's features and functionality with your Roku TV, you'll want to contact Apple TV support directly to inquire further. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.

You can reach Apple TV support here: https://support.apple.com/apple-tv

Thanks,
Danny

I have a Roku TV 5315X.  I want Apple TV.  A Roku Express 3930X allows Apple TV.  If I connect the express to my Roku TV, does the express subsume the Roku TV?  In other words, does the Roku TV become a regular TV and all my Roku functionality is handled by the express?

@jbthehutt, basically, yes.  You would select the input your Express is connected to using your TV's remote and then use the Express for all your streaming needs.  It's similar to having a DVD or Blu-ray player connected to your TV.  If you wanted to watch live over-the-air TV you'd have to go back to your TV.  The TV has a setting to always power up to the last input used if you only ever used the Express.  The Roku channels/apps on your TV would still be functional, but there wouldn't be any reason to use them since they'd also be on your Express (assuming you link it to the same Roku account).
