CBS News app menu banner won't minimize

Hello,

For the past month or two, I've had an issue with the CBS News app. When trying to watch a non-live show (for example, 60 Minutes), the app begins glitching each time there is an ad break. After the show returns from the ad break, the menu pops up, hiding the bottom third of the screen to display other shows that can be chosen.

 

I have found no way to close or hide the menu. It simply stays open no matter which buttons are pressed. Since the menu is displayed, pausing/rewinding is unavailable, and one can only scroll through the menu of other shows.

 

If this menu is left open long enough, the current show will replay from the beginning.

 

This issue makes the app unusable. One can only watch the first few minutes of a show, and with much of the screen hidden.

 

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

You didnt mention your Roku model # or firmware version (Settings/System/About) or app version (highlight the app and press Options (*) on the remote).

Try reinstalling the CBS News app:

1) Remove the CBS News app (Highlight the app, press the Options (*) button on the remote, then Remove)

2) RESTART the Roku (Settings/System/System restart/Restart) <-- MUST DO THIS HERE!!!

3) Re-install the CBS News app

(Otherwise, if you don't restart settings/cached data associated with the app are left behind and it wont be a clean re-install)

Hi,

 

Thanks for your response. I tried uninstalling the app, restarting the system via the suggested method, and then reinstalling. Unfortunately the problem remains.

 

I'm using model number 3900X - Roku Express with software version 10.0.0 build 4209-51.
