CBS APP will not load after roku restart and app replacement

I have read through the posts and advice to get the CBS app running and nothing works.

(WE"RE SORRY AN ERROR OCCURRED)

  1. I have restarted roku and that didnt work
  2. I have deleted and reinstalled the cbs app and that didnt work

Is this network incapable of creating an app that  works.  All my other  network apps load with no issues.

Re: CBS APP will not load after roku restart and app replacement

Just to be clear, you have to do the steps in this order:

  1. Remove the channel/app
  2. Restart the Roku device
  3. Reinstall the channel/app

Any other order of these three steps doesn't accomplish anything.

Re: CBS APP will not load after roku restart and app replacement

Thank you for your reply ...however your detailed process did not work

Apparently CBS does not know how to make a proper Roku App.

All other apps work fine, but CBS has never been able to create a proper ROKU app.

Hi @powerplant

We do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.

If the issue persists from one channel after attempting the suggestions above, videos from other channels play fine, contact the channel provider's customer support team to report the issue and get help.

Channels on Roku are maintained by the channel developer themselves. In this case, there's likely an issue within that specific channel that needs to be addressed with an update from them.

You can reach them here: CBS Help Center

Thank you for your understanding.

All the best,
Kariza

This does not resolve the problem!  I have tried to uninstall and reinstall on two different devices and still get the same error  "Something went wrong"

Remove/Restart/Reinstall just assures you get a clean uncorrupted installation of the current version of the app that has been provided to Roku by its developer.  If the problem is that the app itself is faulty, a reinstall won't help it.

Re: CBS APP will not load after roku restart and app replacement

I found that signing out and back in with my cable provider solved the problem on one device.  On the other one, I am still trying to reinstall the app.

Can you provide steps as to how you did that? Can’t get CBS to work through other suggested ways. Thanks.

@cleddy-

While in the CBS app...

Go to the menu at the left edge of the screen.

Scroll down to see the Sign Out link.

When signed out, sign back in with your TV provider credentials.
