BBC iPlayer - Unsupported Device Message

Hi,

new roku owner, everything setup but having an irritating issue where bbc iplayer launches to a black screen and does nothing else..if i press any keys on the remote the sounds can be heard. on latest update - connected using ethernet etc bit of a puzzler tbh have tried removing and reinstalling the app as well still the same!

update: receiving unsupported message for iplayer on my device any idea @RokuTannerD

@PidgeonCanDance Thanks for the note here. If you've purchased a Roku device model from another location that isn't sold directly in your current region/location, it's possible that the channel provider does not certify their channel for that model of Roku streaming device. In this instance, you may see that type of message. I would recommend contacting the channel provider directly to inquire further about the specific Roku models their channel is supported on in your location.

When removing/reinstalling, did you use the following procedure? Remove/reinstall procedure:

1. Highlight channel on home screen.

2. Press * key and choose Remove channel option.

3. IMPORTANT- DON'T SKIP: From home screen, Settings > System > System restart. This assures no remnant of the old installation remains in the Roku's memory.

4. After system restarts, find channel via Streaming Channels.

5. Highlight channel and install.

6. If channel requires a login, you may need to log in anew.

  • Roku Streaming Stick +, 3810X, Ser YH0059427035, wifi - Samsung UN55ES6100
  • Roku Streaming Stick, 3600X, Ser 5S56D8240827, wifi - JVC EM37T
  • TCL Roku TV 43S425/C107X, Ser X000001R60KV, wifi
