why do I have to put in code to get channel to work, this happens on most channels, I should not have to put in activation code each time

We do not have enough details from your original message to make an effective suggestion. Could you tell us more about your concern? A photo of what the issue looks like on your TV screen would be a great help as well.
Furthermore, please be advised that some channels require a TV/cable provider login which sometimes may ask you for an activation code to access the channel's content.
